What is the outside doing to the inside. Where can any of the children go. Walk the pet. Through the supermarket aisles. Not in the car for a change. Just to cross the highway. Get out and get some air on you. While the sun is out.
The smallness of activity. Designer clothing made of paper. Collage. The way things feel against the skin. Paying more attention to the sense of smell. The way your neck looks as you age. Hoping that the leaves stay on the trees despite the wind and rain.
I’ve got nothing against any of all that. Once I had a family doctor. I prefer a spoon sometimes. But there is no spoon. The secret. There’s no secret you have not made up. Even when you heard it from someone somewhere. That’s the way of it.
Science is a lesson. How to be a person when you think about it. How to read a book that looks different. How to brush your teeth with your eyes closed. Is the breakfast ready. Let’s skip lunch and dinner. I like feeling something.
